Playhouse 

The Highlands Playhouse is a unique artistic venture.  Created, nourished and sustained by the Highlands-Cashiers community, its reputation is wide-spread and continues to grow significantly.  The Highland Playhouse Company and staff are grateful for your continued and staunch support.  Thank you for making our theatre such a success and thank you for continuing to attend our performances! Welcome!  Please visit us often!

Our History 

In the summer of 1938 a group of Highlanders presented a play for one performance in what was then the town's school auditorium.  This production was Dulcy, a comedy by George S. Kaufman and Marc Connelly. 

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the governing body for the non-profit Highlands Community Theatre, Inc. (the "legal name" of The Highlands Playhouse).  In addition to their official duties, members of the board conduct fund raising activities every year to ensure that ticket prices can be kept to a minimum.

General Manager

Henry Johnson is General Manager of the Playhouse.  Henry has been working for the Playhouse in one capacity or another for over 30 years, mostly behind the scenes.  Henry is very excited about the 70th Diamond Jubilee Season!
